Midnight, AKA Houdini

My horse Midnight has been channelling Houdini. He managed to get out of his rain sheet, leaving all the leg straps and belly straps done up and intact; the only damage was to the straps across the chest, which he tore off. Kelly told me he had the sheet on this morning, and later when she looked, there he was in all his black and white nakedness. She very kindly went and rescued the rainsheet, which now will have to be washed and sent to the repair shop. It's not the first time he's managed this trick: a couple of winters ago he did the same thing to a new winter blanket. I bought it and put it on him one day, and the very next day it was lying in a soggy, torn heap in his stall, all the straps still done up. I think he's trying to tell me something. Just a nudist at heart is my boy. LOL.

I had a very nice turkey dinner tonight, courtesy of Sue. We had Thanksgiving dinner early, because I have to work tomorrow, and Monday is going to be a very busy day. It was just the three of us, Sue and Jack, and me. Lots of turkey and stuffing, mashed potatoes and brussels sprouts, all yummy. For dessert I brought a chocolate cake.

It was a gorgeous afternoon, the perfect fall day. Bright sunshine, crisp air, and warm enough for just tee shirts.

I got home late, and now I have to get ready for work tomorrow. No leftover turkey for sandwiches, sadly, but I will have chocolate cake...a good thing, something to be thankful for. :P
