Bushed, beat, wiped out..
Feb. 6th, 2012 09:09 pmIn other words, I'm totally exhausted tonight. Not so much sleepy, as plain old body tired. Busy day out at the farm; I was up early and on the road because my farrier was coming to shoe Midnight and Kyra, and I wanted to get an early start on the stalls. Being the nice employers we are, we gave Kelly some holidays to go skiing, so this week it's just Sue and me doing the work. I had half the stalls done by the time Nick arrived. Midnight and Kyra behaved themselves and stood nicely in the crossties, so I didn't have to hold them for Nick. In fact, Midnight was better than when I stand there and hold him...he tends to want to play with me. Good to know for next time.
I cleaned 9 stalls, put the young fillies in the arena for their hour of exercise (one at a time), and made them all have a good run. They behave so much better when they get their yayas out. Swept the barn, cleaned paddocks, brought horses in etc. etc. By the time I was down to the last stall, I was having trouble lifting the fork. Don't know why I felt so wiped out. Maybe I didn't have enough coffee this morning.
Got myself home safely, had some dinner, a long hot bath, and watched a little TV. I'd go to bed, but it's only 9:15, and I know I wouldn't go to sleep. There's no point in even trying before 10:30 or 11 for this night owl.
It's been a day. Gorgeous warm one though!
