A day in my life.
Oct. 16th, 2012 07:13 pmSlept through my alarm, leapt out of bed at 8:30 and grabbed a cup of coffee while I got dressed; was out of the house by 9. Went up to the bank to get some cash, then stopped at Tim Hortons for a breakfast sandwich and coffee, and a box of Timbits for our afternoon treat. I was at the farm by 10:15. We put the boys (Teddy and Buddy) out into their paddocks. Sue had already put all the other horses out. I cleaned 9 stalls, 9 paddocks and the arena, raked the manure pile and helped Sue bring in the horses in the afternoon. Luckily it was a nice dry day.
Got home and made dinner. Took out my new laptop and attempted to get on the internet. Failed. Checked the connection to my wireless router, all good. I have no idea what's wrong, it was working fine the other day! I'm very frustrated because I can't figure out what the problem is. It shows the MSN page, but won't do anything else. Decided to check on my old computer to make sure it wasn't a service provider issue. Nope, this is working just fine, if a bit slowly. I guess I'll have to take it to Staples and get them to check it out. It's under warrenty and their "if it doesn't work we'll fix it or replace it policy", so I'm sure I'll get it solved. At least I have my old desktop, so I'm not out of the loop totally!
I'm working tomorrow in ICU. I think I'm going to do a post one day giving an overview of a day in ICU. One of my co-workers told me yesterday that his family have no idea what it is he does all day, and I think most non medical people only have the vaguest of notions- it's not like it seems on TV, folks! (Not right now, though. I'm getting set to watch Dancing with the Stars...this season is fabulous.)
Thursday through Sunday is going to be busy; Jack and Sue are taking Goldie to the final horse show of the season, so I'm going to be needed to help out at the farm. Going to be some early mornings ahead. :( Not the best early morning person here. Hopefully Goldie will do well and get a nice ribbon for her Dad!
Got to stop typing now, my shoulder is starting to yell at me.
