For some unknown reason all of a sudden the font has switched to teeny tiny..not good for the older eyes. Not sure what happened here, or how to fix it.
In other news, today we fixed Buddy and Teddy's paddock fence. Jack and I put up new posts and boards along the side where the old posts were pretty bad. We didn't have the time to do more than that, but it's a temporary measure anyway. In the spring Jack wants to redo the whole paddock with beautiful Triple Crown fencing; it's right up by the house and he wants to make it a showpiece. It was made for the mothers and foals, and will be used for that again in the future. For now it's nice and high and strong, so the boys will be safe. We had to finish the work by the light of Jack's truck headlights; it gets dark here around 4 p.m.
We put all the winter blankets on the horses yesterday, and I was so happy to see Kyra out there today with her lovely new blanket on. She's old and thin, so I want to make sure she's warm. I bought her a new Supra Blanket from Greenhawk Tack; it's a pretty plum coloured plaid with black trim and it fits her perfectly. I didn't even have to adjust the belly straps; it was just right, out of the package. Yay! Midnight has his blanket on too; it's not a new one, it's his last year's and it's just fine. Fits well, and it's in one piece (for now, anyway). That boy is too hard on his clothes to get a fancy new blanket any time soon. Rochelle has an old blanket I bought for Midnight when I first got him; it's in good condition, and it fits her. Putting new blankets on a young horse isn't the best idea, at least until she gets used to wearing one. Takes a little while before they learn to ignore it.
Only two weeks until Christmas! I have a bit of shopping left, and tomorrow I'm going to put the lights up on my Rosemary bush outside on the patio..in lieu of an actual Christmas tree. The houses along the streets are putting their best bright lights on, and it looks so pretty. A couple of houses on Grandview are totally amazing. I see them when I'm driving home, and I never am able to get a proper look, because, well, I'm driving. But it is a real picture waiting to be taken!
I watched the trailer for the new Star Trek movie just now, and I can't wait for the movie to come out. It looks AWESOME.
Okay, that's it for me. Time for a hot bath, a cup of cocoa, and a few chapters of one of my current books. I'm rereading the Star Trek Rihannsu series by Diane Duane, just 'cause I'm in the mood, and those are some of my favourite Star Trek books.
