Been a long time, eh?
Mar. 4th, 2013 11:03 pmJust checked, and my last post was on Feb.20th. Holy cow. It's hard to say why I haven't been posting more, other than general busy life stuff, and the midwinter blahs. Also, I've been somewhat under the weather of late, dealing with some non-life threatening, but not so nice health stuff, which fortunately seems to be improving. So my energy has been limited. Not to worry, it's all getting better.
I've been trying to keep going as usual, working at both my paying job and the non paying but infinitely more satisfying job at the farm. Haven't been doing much else, and today I felt like doing even less, so I've spent the day just hanging out on the couch, napping and reading and trying to get a little juice into my batteries.
Today the weather was so much more spring like, and I noticed that the crocuses and daffodils are coming up in my planters on the patio. Yay! I saw my first cherry blossoms the other day, too. We have had some really horrendous rain this past week; luckily we haven't had any flooding at the farm, because we have really well drained land, but some folks have had a lot less luck. The young woman who works for us had to go help some friends who run a horse rescue place which is close to the Fraser river; the river rose over the dyke and flooded a lot of their farm. I can't imagine having to deal with that.
Building is coming along at the farm; the roof on the new barn is done, and work on the inside should start soon. It looks fantastic! We're getting really excited about getting going on the house.
The horses are all going well. We're going to a horse show in 3 weeks, Goldie's first show of the season. She's jumping really well, and we're anxious to see how she does this year. Spring is coming and the show season is beginning.
That's it for now...except to say that my sore shoulder has miraculously fixed itself. I have been typing now for awhile, and there's no pain! A week or so ago I could hardly type five sentences without it hurting. It's a miracle! :) Wish I could figure out how I did that.
