I was having a fine day, until that big old truck tried to push my rear bumper into the back seat..
Shoot. I was stopped at the intersection of 272 and 56th street, waiting for the traffic to pass so I could turn onto 56th, when I got rearended. The guy driving the truck was going too fast to stop in time, and just slid into my car. Going to need a new bumper, and the trunk won't close, but the car is still drivable, so it's not as bad as it could have been. He could have pushed me right out into oncoming traffic, since his truck was way bigger than my Honda. I was a bit shaken up, and my neck is a bit sore, but other than that I'm okay. He's okay too, just pissed that I stopped! Kept saying that he wished I hadn't stopped...me too, dude. But yield signs mean that one has to yield, and I was doing just that.
I called ICBC when I got home to report the accident. Since I'm planning to go away for a visit to my family, I'm going to have to leave going to have my car inspected by the Claims department until I get back. I had hoped that I could leave it with the repair shop while I was away, but that's not possible. Something to look forward to when I get back.
