That's not a healthy glow, that's SWEAT!!!

Like so many others in so many parts of the world, we're suffering from a heat wave here on the West Coast. There has not been any measurable rain here in 3 weeks, which is definitely unusual, but getting less so every year. It's nice to see lots of blue sky, but a few clouds would be a welcome break, I must say.

The hardest part is having to do all the work around the farm when it's stinking hot, makes everyone pretty cranky, even the horses! They're not terribly happy in the heat either. Today I found myself really struggling at times, had to stop and pant a bit at the top of that big old manure pile! I was sweating big time...so much for the hairdo! (Sue and I had a laugh about that. We don't do hairdos, lol. Sometimes I wish I had long hair so I could just pull it back in a pony tail) By the time we had all the horses in and fed and the paddocks cleaned, both of us were about ready to collapse. A bit of a sit down and a couple of big glasses of cold fizzy water fixed us up, though.

I was happy to get in my new car and turn up the air conditioning for the ride home. My apartment is a bit warm, even with both fans going full tilt.

Ah, well. I shouldn't complain, it's not that bad. I'm just not fond of sweating.
