I haven't figured out how to slow things down. I printed out my work schedule last night (while I was working the night shift in CCU), and the screen came up with a whole lot of green blocks, green being the colour of my booked shifts. I had no idea how much I've been working until I stopped and looked at it on the page. In September I have worked 14 twelve hour shifts out of 30 days, and gone out to the farm almost every day I'm not at work. In the two months I've had my new car, I've driven over 5000 km. And it's not going to get any slower for awhile.

In the next two weeks we have to pack up Sue's house and get her moved over to the coach house, so the old house can come down. We have the farrier coming next week to shoe and trim the horses, all the everyday work to keep up with, and at some point I'd like to have a moment to go check out a new phone, and maybe have tea with my friend Jill so I can hear about her recent trip to Italy.

I'm kind of exhausted just thinking about it all.

But: there are so many good things happening as a result of all the hard work we've all put in over the last couple of years, I just keep going. We got windows put in the small barn last week! First thing I noticed yesterday when I got out of my car. So now Buddy and Teddy can stick their heads out of their stall windows and watch the work going on around them, and Buddy can talk to his grandma Jubilee, who is taking full advantage of her window to make her opinions known, LOL. Sue and I were talking with Cam, the builder, and he was quite amused by the fact that we're more excited about the windows than we are about getting beautiful granite countertops in the coach house apartment. Hee. But we are so excited to see the barn being renewed and the horses in a barn with lots of light and air. After all, they are the whole reason we work so hard.

Speaking of work, there hasn't been any on the patio here for about a week. No idea why, but I wish they'd finish so I can get my plants back in one spot. I'm tired of hauling water upstairs and downstairs and across the parking lot to water everything. Haven't seen my fig tree for awhile; hope it's okay in the little yard outside the building next door.

It's been stinking hot. Broke a record in Abbotsford yesterday. Makes it a bit hard to sleep after night shift.

I will survive!
