I haz one. A day when I could sleep in (and hurray, the guys fixing the patio didn't show up), have a leisurely morning, do a little grocery shopping and then head out for my hair appointment. Such luxury, time to oneself.
I now have a very chic new haircut, feels so much better. Takes a few years off my face too; a good haircut is one of the best mood improvers around. Likewise, a good hair stylist is a treasure to hang on to. I have been going to Sandy for several years, following her from salon to salon. I hate to think of having to find someone new! She knows my hair so well, and does a smashing job..well worth the rather large amount of money it costs. But the haircut lasts and grows out so well that I only have to get it done a couple of times a year.
After the haircut I had a nice afternoon tea with my friend Jill. Came home and made a very delicious risotto so I have dinner made for tomorrow, and some to take to give to Sue for her dinner on Friday. I really enjoy having the time to cook something that needs my attention for longer than five minutes. All that stirring was a bit tiring, but the risotto turned out so creamy and yummy it was worth the effort.
I also went up to the library to return a book, and found a copy of Neil Gaiman's new book on the fast read shelf. The Ocean at The End of The Lane is a short book, hardly long enough to qualify as a novel, so I don't think I'll have any trouble reading it in the week allowed. In fact I'm limiting myself a bit so I don't read it all in one go. Three chapters in and I'm feeling the magic of Gaiman's writing.
Now it's 10 o'clock, and my day off is just about over. Back to work tomorrow.
