Hello, anyone home?

midnightsjaneLJ/DW seem pretty quiet these days, maybe it's just that we're all busy doing summer things? I do miss the glory days, when all of my flist were active and present here, but I'm just as guilty as the next person of not being much of a presence here anymore. Perhaps it's just that life has been so busy, or perhaps the bloom is off the internet rose for me. My time has been taken up with the efforts of everyday life, working and keeping everything going as smoothly as I can, and somehow it just doesn't seem as important to turn on the computer many nights. I still keep checking in, and I want to keep in touch with all the great people I know, so out of sight isn't out of mind...
I spent the entire day yesterday just recovering from the hectic week of the horse show. It was quite a marathon. Goldie was wonderful, jumped really well, and was a very well behaved girl, so we are all pleased. She has a big ribbon from the first day, and although she didn't win anymore, it wasn't from lack of trying. Five days is a very long show for a horse so young, so we're just very happy with how well she did. It's all mileage, and building her stamina and confidence. The last few days the weather was horrible, which was unfortunate. The next show is in August, so we'll see how that goes.
I didn't even get out of my pyjamas yesterday; napped on the couch a lot, read a book, watched TV, and generally vegetated.
Today was a more energetic day, so I got a lot of domestic stuff done. Tomorrow I have to go back to work in ICU.
Hard to believe that it's July already. Summer seems to have bypassed us so far, but I hope the weather forecast is right; the next couple of weeks look much better. I'm actually glad I don't have to deal with the heat they're having back east; I don't do so well in it. But it would be nice not to have to carry an umbrella all summer long.
