I swear, there's a door to an alternate reality in our field. The hoof pick I was using on Kyra's feet this afternoon, the one I tossed down on the ground so I could grab Midnight and haul him away from Kyra's dinner, that bright red one? It vanished. I know I was using it, I know I tossed it down onto the dirt/short grass area where there is no hiding spot, but when I looked for it, it was simply gone. I think maybe I threw it through the portal into the universe where single socks, lost horse shoes, and ballpoint pens go. That's the only logical explanation.
:P
My poor cat Annie has hurt her eye. I came home last night and her left eye was swollen shut. I cleaned it as best I could, and decided that I'd see how it was this morning. It seemed a bit less swollen this morning, and she was able to open it, so it seems benign neglect is the best approach for the moment, not something that requires a visit to the emergency clinic. It's still swollen and a bit weepy, so if it's not better in the morning, I'll take her to the Vet. I've found over the years that sometimes things take care of themselves. This happened to her once before, and all the Vet did was give me some ointment to put in her eye. Poor kitty. I feel bad that she's uncomfortable, but at least she's otherwise acting normally.
:(
I've been watching a Big Bang Theory marathon this weekend...at least when I'm here at home. I just started watching this show a few months ago, so now I'm pretty much caught up. I love the show, it makes me laugh out loud.
And as the Reader's Digest always said, laughter is the best medicine.
