We have sunshine..
Oct. 5th, 2012 10:08 pmAnd my poor sister up in Northwestern Ontario has over a foot of snow in her backyard. Today I was out at the farm, cleaning stalls (9 of them in 2.5 hI ours, not bad) and I was so warm I wished I'd worn my shorts. Hard to believe it's October. I'm not complaining, it's fantastic. We're in the midst of redoing all the paddocks, putting in new footing, so this dry warm weather is a real gift. It's going to make the rainy season so much easier to deal with, having dry paddocks. No more mud, just lovely dry crusher dust. The difficulty with keeping horses in this climate is that it's so wet for so long, and when they have to go out in muddy paddocks they end up either hurting themselves or getting something like mud fever (a fungal skin infection). So this winter is going to be so much easier.
I'm still getting used to my new computer. The keyboard has a different feel to the old desktop's, and I can't type as fast without making a mistake, but I'm starting to get the hang of it. It's got a built in camera, so if I ever figure out how to use it, I'll post a picture of my fabulous new hairdo.
Maybe I'll go look at that user's manual they gave me.
