Rain, lots of rain

midnightsjaneVery wet weekend hereabouts. It was pouring as I drove out to the farm this morning, so hard it was hard to see the road. Very white knuckle driving...especially given all the idiots who whizzed by me, spraying up the water so that their cars vanished in the gloom. Of course, most of them didn't have their headlights on, either.
We did manage to get the horses out for a couple of hours. Hurray for the new footing on the paddocks! Even with all the wet weather, there's no mud and hardly a puddle to be seen. We are thrilled. It's going to make the winter a lot better.
After doing the work Sue and I went out for a late lunch at Whitespot; I had a totally delicious bowl of tomato soup and a pulled pork sandwich. I was so full after I wanted a nap! Picked up my new rainpants from the store, so now it can rain all it wants, I'll be dry and warm.
Drove home in the rain and fog. Glad to be inside all warm and snug, and my thoughts go out to all those folks in New Jersey and New York who are still having such a terrible time of it. I sure am not going to whine about a little rain here; definitely counting my blessings.
