We buried Kismet this afternoon, down at the end of the field, in a lovely little wooded area, next to Phaedra. Our two girls are together again. It was a really tough thing, but it's a relief in a way. Kismet's pain is over, and she's going to be with us forever. We're planning to make a little memorial garden around their graves; I want to plant some roses, and some rosemary, for rememberance.
Teddy is doing remarkably well, all things considered. He's quite calm and is eating and drinking well. He was lying down in his stall having a little nap when I looked in at him after Kismet's burial. He and Buddy are across from each other in the barn, and I think they will be quite happy out in their paddock together. We're going to be giving them a lot of TLC over the next while.
We know this is a part of living with animals, and that we are not the only ones who have to deal with the hard times that come along. We will carry on, and take what comes
