Huh. Who knew?

So apparently there was an earthquake here today. Well, not exactly here, it was off the west coast of Vancouver Island. Some people felt it here in Vancouver, some buildings kind of swayed and lights swung and stuff. I was at work in the hospital at the time, and we didn't feel a thing. Not that I'm unhappy about that; the hospital I work in is pretty old. ICU is in the newest part of the hospital, so it's up to code (I think), but the oldest part is over 100 years old, and is likely to go down in a heap of brick should buildings really start to shake. So I'm thankful that we didn't feel a thing today.
Busy day today, but good. It helps so much to work with a pleasant, helpful group of people. That's one of the strengths of our ICU; we have always emphasized team work. I have rarely had trouble getting help when it's needed, and although there are exceptions of course, most of the staff get along, and do their best to make it a good place to work. One of the reasons I've been able to keep working there for over 30 years.
Now I'm on a bit of a holiday; not going back to work for a week, while my sister visits. First holiday I've had all year.
I finally managed to see the season finale of Nikita tonight! Looking forward to the new season starting up.
