The new season is upon us, and I hope that it brings some decent shows to watch. Other than Doctor Who, the Food Network and HGTV, summer viewing has been something of a vast wasteland.
I'm looking forward to the return of Nikita and Dancing With the Stars and one or two other shows, like Bones.

Tonight I watched Sarah Michelle Gellar's new show Ringer. The verdict? I think it has some promise of twisty turny plotlines, although it is a bit on the soapy side, at least from the pilot episode. I like SMG, and it took me only about 1/4 of the show to stop seeing Buffy and start seeing her as this new character. I'll keep watching for now.

After Ringer The Secret Circle came on, and I started watching just because it was on, and soon found myself drawn into the story. I had heard of it through an article in the paper, because the pilot was filmed in Steveston, a fishing and tourist community just outside Vancouver. I recognized it, and it's kind of fun to see a familiar place transformed into another world. The show seems aimed at a younger audience than me (well, so is most of the stuff on TV I think, LOL) and I kept thinking I should see what else was on, but kept on watching, and in the end I found it intriguing and interesting enough that I'll tune in again.

Then there's my favourite Monday night guilty pleasure, Dancing with the Stars; I am eagerly waiting for the first show to see just who has potential and who has two left feet.

I read that Bones won't start until November, and then there will only be 13 episodes this season because of Emily Deschanel's pregancy.

Be nice to have more than reruns and food shows to watch.
