Stormy weather, lalalala..
Oct. 28th, 2011 10:01 pmI was singing the stormy weather song today...it was a blustery, rainy day out at the farm, just lovely for all the outdoor work. Ha. I kind of slept in this morning; I remember the alarm going off at 7:30, and I remember thinking "why is the alarm on? I don't have to go to work." Woke up at 8:30, omg, it's work day at the farm! Got there by 10:15, and got to work. We didn't put the horses out because the weather forecast was for lots of rain and wind, which finally arrived around noon. I brought Midnight and Kyra in from the field just as the rains started pouring down. We managed to get all the stalls cleaned, although it seemed more of a hard slog than usual. I think it was lunch break, which was a delicious bowl of potato and leek soup, and a cheese and tomato panini. All that lovely food made me just want to go take a nap instead of cleaning stalls!
Teddy decided that he didn't want to stay in his stall today; Sue was cleaning it when he managed to sneak past her and go exploring down the barn. Luckily, he stopped to talk to Kandance, so Sue managed to get him before he got outside..because then who knows how long it might have taken once he got the wind under his tail! She got him back into his stall, where he promptly rolled in the new sawdust and got himself cast (stuck)against the back wall. She had to rope him over so he could get up. Buddy tends to do the same thing, only right by the stall door. We really have to teach the boys to roll in the middle of the stall.
I got back to the city by around 5:30, and stopped in to WhiteDwarf Books to say hi to my friend Jill, and her bassett hound Judd. I haven't seen her for ages, so I wanted to prove to her that I was still alive and kicking, just way too busy for words. Judd was happy to see me; he's happy to see anyone who will give him scritches, LOL.
Ah, one of my favourite reality shows is back! I'm watching Canada's Worst Driver 7 right now...one of the drivers is from around here. In fact, I'm sure they could pick any number of local drivers, judging from the idiots I've seen on the road today. I don't have that much I want to watch on TV, so it's nice to have one new thing. I am almost caught up with the episodes of Nikita, watched two tonight, and Sunday I saw the premiere of Once Upon a Time which I really liked, so I'll be watching that one. I gave up on The Secret Circle and Ringer..I missed so many episodes I decided I wasn't really interested in either show. Ah, TV, you're a vast wasteland of timesuck..not that that's anything new. At least there's always Food Network.
That's about it for me. I'm trying to be a little better at keeping up here.
