Lemonade kind of day

What's that saying? When life hands you a lemon, make lemonade?
It was that kind of day for me. The lemon part: my poor old car started overheating on the way home the other day (I prayed to the car gods all the way home, promised the old girl a nice oil change if she'd just get me home without blowing up)so I had to take it in to the garage this afternoon. I left her with the mechanics, and had time to kill while they figured out what the problem was. This leads to the lemonade part of the day: I walked down to Granville Island Market and spent a couple of hours wandering around the market. I had a coffee, watched a trick unicyclist (who was also something of a comedian)entertain a crowd on the pier, listened to a couple of buskers, sampled some goodies, and walked around the area enjoying the sunshine and brisk air. I haven't done that sort of thing in ages. The fresh air cleared out my head, and the sun raised my spirits. Lovely.
The car got repaired; turned out that the radiator was cracked and leaking coolant, so she has a new radiator and thermostat. Only cost me $500..since the last time there was a problem with the car overheating it cost me over $1000, I feel like I got off lightly. Trouble with having an old car is that things do tend to break down from time to time. I feel like we're kindred spirits, me and me old car. LOL.
All in all, a day that left me feeling quite cheerful.
