Worked in ICU Sunday and Monday, had pretty good shifts. My patient was a rather sweet but cantankerous eldery Scotsman..you know the kind, gruff and a tad rude, but with a twinkle in his eye and a bit of a marshmallow heart. We got along pretty well, even if he did complain to his doctor that I was "very persistant woman" who kept badgering him to eat. LOL. He had been quite ill, but over the couple of shifts I had him he improved a lot. He wasn't eating and I kept trying to find things he would take, but everything I offered was refused. I threatened him with a new feeding tube to replace the one he had pulled out if he didn't eat something, and he replied that if I tried he would put it somewhere it would really hurt! Also, he was 84 years old, and he would eat or not if he liked. Fair enough.
His grandson came in to visit and asked him what he wanted; what he wanted was a bacon and egg sandwich from Tim Hortons, so his grandson got him one. Damned if he didn't chomp that sandwich down to the last crumb! Maybe I should write a testimonial to Timmy's...I might get free coffee. heee.
By the end of my shifts I had transferred him back up to the ward; he thanked me for everything, and told me "don't tell anyone where I am!" Sweet old guy.

March seems to be set on coming in like a lion here. Today it was a mix of just about everything; sun, rain, snow, the whole gamut. February has been a bit of a rough month for me, so I'm not unhappy to see it done with. Hope that March brings spring sunshine and easier times.

All the horses are doing well, the boys are growing like weeds. I swear that Teddy's shoulder is almost as high as my head! The girls are all filling out and getting bigger by the minute.

The car is running smoothly with her new radiator, which was great on the ride home...which took me almost 2 hours. There was a truck stalled on the Port Mann bridge, and the back up in traffic was horrendous. Really glad my car behaved and I wasn't one of those poor losers blocking rush hour traffic the other day!

And that's my exciting week. I sure do live the high life, eh? Not.
