midnightsjaneI'm big on comfort. Nothing better than getting all snug and warm in my fleecy flannel pjs and snuggling with my kitties on the couch, a hot cup of tea in my hand, and a good book to read. I baked raisin and date scones while I was waiting for dinner to cook, so I have yummy baked goods to eat as well. I'm all warm inside while it's chilly and rainy outside, the very definition of comfort for me.
I was saddened to hear that Davy Jones (of the Monkees fame) died today. I was taken back to my days in nursing school when my classmates and I would spend the evening (Mondays, I seem to recall) in the lounge, waiting for the Monkees to come on TV. It was the start of the music video age, and was very much the upstart show back then. Davy was the cute one with the English accent.
Today is leap day. I almost got married on leap day, but we changed the date and did it on the 28th. If we'd managed to stay together, yesterday would have been our 43rd wedding anniversary. Huh. Much better for us both that we didn't. A comforting thought, that even the worst mistakes can lose all their sting with time and distance. I'm big on comfort.
