Catching up.
Apr. 13th, 2012 09:45 pmHey there! Can't believe I haven't been here for almost two weeks. Time just flies by, and before you know it, the month is half over.
I haven't been feeling particularly sociable of late, to be honest. I get home at night, and it just has felt like too much trouble to even turn on the computer and go online. Instead I've been hunkering down, doing some reading, picking up my long abandoned cross stitch projects, and trying to get to bed at a decent hour. Nothing terrible, not depressed or anything, just..kind of detached. Anyhow, I figured I'd better check in here so you all don't start thinking I've run away to some desert island, lol. I have been reading your posts, just not commenting much.
I had a whole seven days off work over the Easter weekend; it was lovely. The weather was great, and we got a lot of work done out at the farm. I even had time to give Midnight and Kyra some attention. The horses are all starting to shed, and they get so itchy. I think I got enough hair off Midnight to stuff a large pillow. Kyra, being older, isn't shedding out yet, and looks a little scruffy. They don't seem to mind. Poor Midnight has been very lame lately, probably because he just can't resist playing silly buggers when the girls are having their runs in the arena; he does like to show off for them!
We got our exercise machine fixed at last so we can start getting the horses into it and getting them working. It needed a part and we finally got a friend who is an electrician out to fix it. We're really happy about that, because it's such a great tool, and gets the horses fit without stressing them.
Work in ICU has been okay; it's been one of our quiet spells. We have times when it's crazy busy, and then the sick people get better (or not) and there's a little down time while we get them out to the wards, then more sick people get admitted...up and down, that's how it goes. I don't mind it when it's a little quiet; we all need the breather.
It's truly springtime here. The Cherry trees are in blossom, and the streets are so pretty. I love this time of year, everything new and promising growth and renewal. There's still lots of snow on the mountains, which is pretty to look at...as long as it stays there!
I made peanut butter cookies the other day. Ate them all, too.
Now we're all caught up! Pretty much, anyway.
