Exercise is good for you.

Just watching Piers Morgan interview Dr. Oz, who tells us that exercise is good for our health. I agree, and although I loathe gyms, and only run to get out of the way of oncoming traffic, I think I get more than enough exercise. For example, today I cleaned out 9 stalls (flinging forkfuls of bedding against the wall, picking up the chunks of manure that rolled down, piling them into a wheelbarrow and pushing said wheelbarrow up the manure mountain in the corner of the field, rinse and repeat) emptied and scrubbed 9 water buckets, walked up and down the barn from the shavings shed to the manure pile, and then picked out 8 paddocks. I don't know for sure, but I think I've probably walked at least a couple of miles.
I'm pretty fit, in fact I'm in better shape at 64 than I was when I was 40. I get more exercise now than I did then, for sure...and I don't have to pay a fee to a gym for weight lifting. I just have to clean Midnight's stall. That boy obviously gets waaaay too much to eat. LOL
I just wish I could get rid of those flappy triceps. The biceps are good, but the undersides of my arms gives me away..maybe I need a personal triceps trainer. ;P
Speaking of exercise: my friend Myriam, whom I've worked with for years, took her patient to CT scan yesterday. The patient was on a heavy special bed, the patient weighed almost 200 pounds and there were pumps and stuff to deal with. Exiting the elevator, the wheels on the bed turned and got stuck in the crack between the elevator and floor, leaving Myriam stuck at the back of the bed in the elevator. What did she do? That 5'3" 110 pound woman lifted the bed out of the crack by herself. She said she didn't even think before she did it, and afterwards she couldn't believe what she had done. Soopernurse, indeedy!! Amazing what a little adrenalin can do. That's what I call pumping iron.

Super nurse indeed!
