That song by Radiohead (I think) was playing very appropriately on my car radio as I wandered the mean streets of Surrey this afternoon. I was on my way home from the farm, by way of our Veterinarian's clinic on 216th, so instead of going all the way down to highway 99 I thought I'd just cut over to highway 10, a route I've taken several times. Unfortunately, a moment's inattention led to a premature left turn, which landed me on the Fraser Highway....and the road to nowhere. Once on the highway, getting over to a route into Vancouver proved practically impossible, so I kept going, and going. A sign pointing to Vancouver left off the little details: it would take me through the centre of Surrey, across the Patullo Bridge, which is possibly the scariest bridge around here, barely wide enough for two cars, never mind 4 lanes, and then through New Westminister and Burnaby. I was well and truly lost, and just about ready to pull in to the next gas station for directions when I finally found myself at a familiar road. Let me say I was ever so pleased to see Grandview Highway..and the road home. It only took me twice as long as usual to get home. On the up side, it was sunny, and I did get to see a few places I hadn't been to before!

Next time it's going to be the direct route. Sightseeing is fun, but not when I'm starving and just want to get home.

Today was the first day of the horse show. Goldie was terrific. She was first in, and smoked the course in 55 seconds. The allowed time was 77 seconds, so she was really fast, and she left all the jumps up! It was the biggest course she's jumped so far, and she was the youngest horse in her class. She went into the jump-off, and was faster, but knocked down 2 rails. We don't know where she stood at the end, because the results weren't up before Sue and Jack left to take her home. We'll find out tomorrow. Whatever the result, we're so proud of our Goldie girl.

I have to get to bed early, because I want to get to the show in time to see her go tomorrow. Her class is at 8 a.m., so I'll have to leave home by 7 a.m. at the latest. Means a 6 a.m. alarm clock for me.

Watched the third season opener of Nikita tonight. Lots of action, lots of intrigue, and I'm looking forward to the season. There's not that many shows I'm really following at the moment. Watched the second episode of Beauty and the Beast, like it well enough to keep on watching for now. I wonder if Continuum is coming back? that show I really liked, and it was one of the few that let Vancouver be Vancouver.

My laptop is working again! I did a system restore on the off chance I'd done something weird, and yay! worked.

Damn, got to stop typing. It really aggravates the tendinitis in my shoulder. Bah, and OUCH!! :(
