So I guess I'll wrap the Christmas presents now. LOL
Seriously, I didn't expect the world to end, but just in case, I didn't want to waste my time fighting with the wrapping paper.
It's been a busy couple of weeks, what with all the construction going on out at the farm, a big snow storm on Wednesday, a couple of shifts in ICU, and trying to get ready for Christmas all squashed into my free time. Not that I'm doing a great deal, but I did want to get my little tree up. Sadly, I didn't get that done because I can't get in to my storage locker downstairs. It looks like someone tried to break in, and then someone fixed the door..except now it won't open at all. Haven't had a chance to call the landlord, so the Christmas decorations will have to stay for the time being. Oh, well.

My friends took me to see The Hobbit as my Christmas gift from them. I thought it was good, although I have to say I'm not sure I'm a fan of 3D movies. This was the first one I've seen, and it gave me a bit of a headache. We went the night of the big snowstorm, and the short drive to the theatre was a bit hairy. My friend J. is a bit of a backseat driver, and things were a little tense by the time we got there, lol. I was just glad someone else had the worry of parking. It was a fun night, despite the icy roads. I haven't been to a movie in the theatre for ages and ages, probably since the last Star Trek movie!

We're probably not going to have a white Christmas here, it's raining as I write this. Since I'm going to be holding down the fort out at the farm on Christmas Eve, and doing the work on Christmas Day, I'll be quite happy if the ground stays snow free and dry. I'm going to spend Christmas Eve making a scallop&vegetable casserole to pop into the oven Christmas lunchtime; Sue and Jack will be back from his mother's and we'll have a little lunch together. I want to get home in time for the Doctor Who Christmas Special Christmas night..now that I have to use the digital box for my cable, my old VCR doesn't work, and I don't have a PVR yet.

I worked on Thursday, and we got a wonderful fruit and cheese tray courtesy of the family of one of our patients; we nibbled all afternoon, and I had my fill of blue cheese with pecans and cranberries, and cranberry covered goat cheeses and pineapple, and strawberries, and then shortbread cookies from another huge box given to us. Best thing about the whole day, the food!

Have to work again tomorrow, then I'm off until the 27th.

Must get to the present wrapping now. I might not have a lot of time to go online over the next few days, so I'd like to wish all of you a very happy holiday with your families and friends. Merry Christmas!

And a little gift to get you in the spirit.. my sister sent it to me, and I think it's lovely. Enjoy the music of the season
