Whew. I can breathe now.

midnightsjaneGame five is done. CANUCKS WIN! One to go, boys..one to go. It was such an exciting game (the bit I could actually watch, LOL) There are thousands and thousands of people on the downtown streets, and they're happy campers now. GO CANUCKS!
Has it really been five days since my last post? Damn, but it's been one of those weeks when I haven't had a moment to breathe, it seems. Between doing my shifts in ICU, driving out to the farm after day shift to do the night feeding shift for Buddy, then back in to work a night shift, I've been feeling a titch frazzled. We're all hanging on by our fingernails this month.
No news on Kismet yet; our Vet called yesterday and said she was doing really well, was more comfortable and happy now that he's managed to get some of her edema down. Juan figures it's going to be any day now. Sue and I just want her to have it so we can bring her and the baby home again. It feels so strange in the mare barn now; just Kandance and Buddy. No Kismet, no Phaedra, no Goldie. Empty stalls just don't feel right.
Buddy continues to thrive. He's grown so much in the last week, and is now starting to munch on hay, and seems to be very settled. He is comfortable enough in his paddock now that he actually took a nap out there yesterday. He's very quiet, except when one of his humans comes out; then he whinnies to us and wants attention. He has a small red jolly ball in his stall and he plays with it a lot; picks it up by the handle and tosses it around. He also likes to play with the lickit toy that we have on the wall; something to get his mouth around and satisfy his need to suck on stuff. We are very proud of our boy.
I had to drive over to West Vancouver to pick something up on my way home tonight; of course I picked rush hour to do it. Sat in traffic for ages; it took me something like 8 red lights just to get across one of the main drags onto the bridge. Yikes. I was so happy to get home at last.
Time to relax a bit. Now I just have to catch up on all of your doings!
ETA: Wow. There are over 70,000 Canucks fans partying it up on Granville and Georgia Streets. It's nuts out there! Glad I didn't get stuck in that on my way home.
