Belated Happy Thanksgiving!
Oct. 15th, 2013 05:39 pmTo all my fellow Canadians, hope you had a great day!
I've had a really busy week, so I've fallen behind in my posting here; a brief update is in order.
Working 4 shifts in 5 days, switching from days to nights to days, doesn't leave me a lot of free time, but I'm doing fine. Thanksgiving Day was a gorgeous fall day, just the best kind of day to celebrate the gift of family and friends with lots of food and other good stuff. I decided to surprise my friends with a turkey dinner with all the fixings, because with all the things going on at the farm of late Sue decided she didn't have time to do dinner. She has cooked the holiday dinners for us for the last few years, with my help, but it was mostly her doing, so I figured it was time for a little payback.
When I came home from work Sunday evening I popped the turkey in the oven, watched this week's Once Upon a Time, made potatoes and stuffing and Brussels sprouts, and went to bed around 1 a.m. I packed everything up yesterday morning, picked up some dessert and drove out to the farm. It was such a fabulous fall day, everyone was really in good spirits. I spent some time with my horses, handed over the dinner to Sue (who was very surprised), took a portion of dinner to have at home because I had to get to work, came home, ate turkey dinner, rushed off to work. Phew!
Had a busy nightshift, came home, fell into bed and slept for almost 8 hours.
Now I have to grab some dinner (leftovers! yum) and head off to work again.
I'll catch my breath later...and catch up with everyone at the same time.
