midnightsjaneLovely, lovely day. Warm, sunny weather, a perfect summer day. I didn't have to rush off anywhere, had time to enjoy a leisurely breakfast and get the apartment tidied up, which felt really good. Then I drove over to the nearest Motor Vehicle Branch and renewed my driver's license; it only took about 30 minutes, practically no waiting time at all. Stopped in at White Dwarf Books to chat with my pal Jill, and bought a new book (for the first time in months, I felt like I could treat myself),the new Mercedes Lackey paperback The Sleeping Beauty, in her Five Hundred Kingdoms series.
I did some grocery shopping, bought some lovely fresh veggies for salad (which I've been craving), and a little treat: a one serving size Hagen Daz double chocolate ice cream. When I got home, I sat in the shade on the patio with my book and ice cream, and just enjoyed the peace and quiet. It was so nice to just sit and do nothing; I haven't had the time to do that in what seems like months. Totally enjoyed it.
Made myself a nice supper: grilled steak, boiled new potatoes and a big salad with lots of fresh veggies. Mmm mmm, good.
All in all, a day that I would call refreshing and rejuvenating.
