How cold is it?

For all you poor folks back east in the cold and snow.
Q: How cold was it in Canada?
A: It was so cold I had to peel my dog off the fire hydrant!
Q: How cold was it in Canada?
A: It was so cold my teenage son actually pulled up his pants.
BAA-DUM..
I have to admit these aren't mine. I heard them on the radio today, and I LOL'd.
It rained and rained today. And rained some more. It was so windy that I had trouble keeping my car in the right lane on the highway. At least it wasn't snow and ice!
The rain made a big problem at the farm; the small barn flooded because the water ran down the driveway to the barn, and the drain across the front part of the barn couldn't handle it, so the water came into the barn aisle and the tack room. Luckily it didn't go into the hay room or the stalls. We never had a problem before, but with the construction of the new house the drainage has been affected. Jack fixed the drain so hopefully it won't happen again tonight.
Our new employee (Alyssa is her name) is working out really well. She's a quick study and is used to handling big horses. Yay.
Now we have Alyssa we have some time to catch up on other chores around the farm. I volunteered to clean out the farm truck...Sue opened up the door last night to get something out of the truck and the smell just about knocked her over. Jack left a bunch of junk in the back seat; old ropes, a tarp, a bag full of binder twine, stuff like that; it was really stinky. I cleaned it all out, swept the carpets and wiped off the seats. I was going to put something in the glove box and when I opened said glove box I found the source of some of the smell. Two mice had made their nest in one corner of the compartment. I know there were two because they scurried away into the engine when I opened up the box. I saw them; they were pretty cute, but the truck is no place for rodents, no matter how cute. They'd chewed up all the paper, except for the plastic covered insurance and registration papers (whew).
I came home in time to watch the men's long program and the dance program for the Canadian Figure Skating Championships. Now I'm watching the USA Championships. The Olympics are coming!
Hope you're having a wonderful weekend, wherever you find yourself. Stay warm!
