Catching up seems to be a theme for me lately. Catching up with news, catching up with housework, catching up with posting...I'm a bit behind on things, just 'cause I seem to be having a busy life. LOL. It's all good.
Yesterday morning I got up at 5:45 a.m., got ready for work, drove to work, actually found a parking spot, arrived at work.......only to find that I'd made a mistake and was supposed to be working a night shift. Had a hissy fit, stormed down to my car, and as I was opening my car noticed a woman searching for a parking space. Figuring that I might as well brighten someone else's day, I handed her my parking spot and the receipt for the spot I'd already paid for. It must have worked, because my day brightened up. I went home, went back to bed and slept until noon. Then I enjoyed a leisurely lunch, walked up to the library and found 3 books to read (The Whole Enchilada by Dianne Mott Davidson, A Bat in the Belfry by Sarah Graves, and Blind Justice by Anne Perry). I had to go back to work and stay up all night, but I'd had a very nice day beforehand. Making lemonade out of lemons, as my Mom would say.
The new house is really coming along. I'm amazed at how much progress they're making. The roof was going on when I was there on Wednesday, and they were framing in the dormer windows. It's very exciting to watch it turn into a real house, with rooms and everything!
Got my hair cut this afternoon. Looks fabulous, if I do say so. My hair stylist is a genius. Even better, I got a 50% discount, because it was my first visit to the new salon my stylist moved to a month ago! (At $100 a cut, that's significant.) I know it's a lot of money for a haircut, but a great cut makes for such a morale boost it's worth it to me.
I'm watching a travel show on Knowledge Network, Joanna Lumley's Greek Odyssey. It makes me want to go back to Greece again, and it's surprising to me that I can still understand a lot of what the Greeks are saying on the show. Haven't really used any of the Greek I learned in many years, so I'm pleased that it's still there somewhere in my brain.
Anyhow. That's me for now.
