50 Years Ago Tonight

I was taking a break from watching the Olympics, doing some channel surfing and came across the tribute to the Beatles' first appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show. It was 50 years ago tonight, and I watched it with my best friend Ginny and her sisters in my livingroom. My parents watched us with amusement and bemusement as we got caught up in the frenzy of the fans. I was particularly taken with Paul, and Ginny thought John was the best. Was it really half a century ago? Makes me feel a tad elderly, but then I see Paul and Ringo on stage performing now and they are pretty damned great for old guys! They've aged very well indeed. Hope the rest of us have done as well.

But still...50 years. Wow. I still remember the words to the songs!
