Putting on the research hat..
Jul. 21st, 2012 09:33 pmNow that a new computer is on my horizon, I have to do some research, and figure out what I need, and what will work for me. Desk top or laptop? Don't know..I use the computer for basic kinds of things, email, surfing the net, LJ, banking, occasional watching of TV shows etc. I'm open to suggestions and advice..what's new and good on the market? What important questions do I need to know to ask when I go shopping? Hints and suggestions appreciated!
I have a co-worker who is a computer whiz (he repaired this computer for me a few years ago), so I'm going to talk with him, too.
This is exciting! I haven't even looked at new electronic stuff in years, so I have no idea what's out there, and now, thanks to the incredible generosity of my friends, I am going computer shopping! Wheee.
Speaking of shopping, I indulged in a little today. Sue and I went into Aldergrove for supper, and stopped in at Mark's Workwearhouse. They had a big sale on, and I went crazy, and bought a new pair of denim capri pants for $14, and 2 new teeshirts for $9 each. I felt absolutely decadent. :P
After a couple of rainy days, summer has returned to this area. Midnight and Kyra are having a great time out in the field; the little grassy area by the water barrel at the gate isn't grassy anymore; it's a lovely dust bath area for Midnight. First thing he did when he went out today after being in his stall last night was roll in the dirt..now he's more of a white, brown and black horse than a black and white. But he's happy, and that's what counts. Kyra looks pretty good, a bit thin, and she still has a bit of her winter coat to shed out. My farrier looked at her the other day, checked her teeth, and he figures she might be close to 30 years old..I think she's around 25, but I'm not sure exactly how old she is. She is pretty feisty for an old girl, kind of like her human. Hee. I said to Nick that I have three horses - one horse who is too lame, one who's too old, and one who is too young to ride...and he said, yup, you're a horse person. Too true.
It was a good day.
